New tech from Sharp across TV and audio

Sharp has announced a variety of new products in its Audio, TV and Smart Appliance Solutions categories.

Launching at the Sharp Xperience 2021 event this week, the brand introduced a new range of audio products from a new Party Speaker to DAB Radio Ranges, and a new addition to its Soundbar Portfolio. Plus, a new 4K Ultra HD Android TV EQ series with Quantum Dot display technology…

4K Ultra HD Android TV series

For the first time in Europe, Sharp is introducing Quantum Dot technology in the company’s new 4K Ultra HD Android TV models, which guarantees an ultra-wide colour gamut and precise colour rendering. The new TV models support HDR10, HLG and Dolby Vision with 12-bit colour reproduction picture standards. The Ambient Light Sensor automatically adjusts the picture brightness to the lighting conditions.

Sharp offers a 24-Watt-two-way speaker system from Harman Kardon – specially developed for the EQ series, and a front-firing tweeter and down-firing woofer. The speakers are approximately three times the size of standard TV solutions and provide increased volume with sound clarity.

For a thrilling cinema experience, Sharp uses Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, creating immersive surround sound. These audio post-processing technologies immerse users in a 3D sound experience with lifelike reproduction and depth.

The Sharp EQ series incorporates Android TV with pre-installed services such as Netflix, YouTube, Google Play Movies & TV and Prime Video, plus an integrated Google Assistant as well as music streaming services such as Spotify, Deezer or Tidal.

2.1 HT-SBW202 soundbar

With a wireless subwoofer, the HT-SBW202 soundbar offers a perfect upgrade for all 40-inch-TVs and above.

Three pre-installed equaliser modes (News, Movie, Music) create individual sound curves matched to the content, whilst a custom equaliser can be set to your personal preferences. The powerful wireless subwoofer ensures cinema-style bass performance.

The HT-SBW202 also boasts a sleek and timeless style. It comes with Bluetooth connection and a 3.5 mm AUX input, as well as a USB interface with MP3 playback compatibility. This soundbar includes four ports and a full-functioning remote control.

Two new ranges of DAB radios: Tokyo and Osaka

These include four portable models (including a pocket-sized version), one home radio, and two new hi-fi systems (one micro, one all-in-one).

The Tokyo range adds a fun twist to classic radio design and comes in a variety of colours, whereas the Osaka range presents an ultra-sleek design for a more contemporary option. The latter comes with BestTune technology, combining all DAB and FM stations into a single station list. Models in the Osaka range also come with a colour screen supporting Slideshow.

XL-B615I Streaming Micro System

Access more than 30,000 radio stations over Wi-Fi; this micro system also includes Bluetooth connectivity to wirelessly stream music, a CD player, Aux input and a USB input. Spotify, Amazon Music and Deezer are also integrated.

PS-949 Party Speaker

Launching in Q1 2022, this model features 200W power output and 13 hours playtime from the built-in lithium-ion rechargeable battery. Music can play wirelessly via Bluetooth, Aux-in, or plug in a USB for MP3 playback.

Connect two PS-949’s using Duo Mode for True Wireless Stereo (TWS), with left and right channel stereo sound from the same Bluetooth source.

There are six DJ sound effects included, and LED lights around the speaker drivers and a strobe light that flashes in sync with the music to create the perfect party atmosphere. Plus there are two guitar/mic inputs.

CP-SS30 Bookshelf Speaker

Two-way active bookshelf speakers with studio sound quality, connect via Bluetooth, Aux-in, Phono, optical inputs for a wired connection and a USB-input for MP3 playback.

New Portable Speakers: CP-LS100 and CP-LS200

A new category for Sharp, “All-day” playback is provided from the interchangeable high-capacity lithium-ion battery pack, or simply plug into the mains supply.

There are three input channels, two with bass/treble adjustments and reverb, all have independent gain controls. Link more than one of these speakers together with a single-wire speaker link or connect via Duo Mode (TWS) for Bluetooth playback. Control via the control panel or with smart app support.

Devialet technologies on its premium models

Sharp has announced its partnership with the renowned premium audio brand, Devialet. These new high performance portable speakers will be the first to include Devialet technologies – the proprietary SAM (Speaker Active Matching) algorithm which delivers improved linearity and enhanced low frequency performance.

What this means for the end user is a sharper, more detailed, and more powerful bass performance with no audible distortion – the high-quality speaker drivers are optimised to be at their very best.
