Hoover’s new floor-type sensing, extra-long reach vacuum

Hoover has launched a new vacuum model that adjusts suction power and brush bar settings depending on the floor type it is cleaning.

Whether it is carpet, a hard floor or a deep-piled rug, the Hoover H-UPRIGHT 500 Sensor Plus Home will detect and adapt itself accordingly, capturing dust, debris and allergens with ease thanks to its powerful, multi-cyclonic technology.

Promising no loss of suction, the vacuum has an H13 HEPA filtration system that helps to purify the air in the home.

Complete with a 1.5 litre bin capacity and ultra-manoeuvrable with a swivel floor nozzle and featuring LED ‘headlights’ usually found on other vacuum formats, the H-UPRIGHT 500 Sensor Plus Home has an extra-long reach of up to 15m, making light work of both under-foot and above-floor cleaning thanks to the on-board accessories.

Hoover is also launching a pets model of the vacuum, which includes a mini turbo brush, and both products have a manual suction vent, too, for ultra-precise power.

Francesca Hodson, Product Marketing Manager SDA at Hoover, said: “The UK has a real affinity for upright vacuums and they are often the main cleaner in the home, complemented by a stick or handheld model elsewhere in the house.

“Vacuums can be very complex appliances though and sometimes people don’t know how or what to change whilst vacuuming to get the most out of their product. For instance, deciding when to use the brush bar, or not, or when to change the suction settings. So we wanted to create a model that would take some of the hard work out of the chore.

“Whilst some uprights may be cumbersome and rigid, we are proud to have evolved a much-loved vacuum style into an agile and powerful model that will intuitively serve modern lives.”
