The TRIC Awards will return for 2022 in full splendour at Grosvenor House on Park Lane in London. Taking place on Wednesday 6 July, newly-appointed TRIC President, Alex Jones (pictured above), will host the in-person event, and it will also be streamed online across the ScreenHits TV platform.
The voting long list for the 2022 Awards is currently live online, so NOW is your chance to choose your most loved TV, radio and online shows and personalities.
There are some incredible nominees this year, including programmes like Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway, The Graham Norton Show and Gogglebox in the ‘Entertainment’ category; Love Island, I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of here! and Stricty Come Dancing in the ‘Reality TV’ category; plus Scott Mills, Steve Wright and Chris Evans in the ‘Radio Personality’ category.
TRIC (The Television and Radio Industries Club) will be celebrating 53 years of the TRIC Awards this year and, as a not for profit organisation, the Club selects two new charities to support; for 2022 it’s the Alzheimer’s Society and Save the Children.
Changes at TRIC HQ at the end of last year saw TRIC Chair, Jane Ostler, hand over to Daniel Todaro, CEO of Gekko and writer for ERT magazine.
Mr Todaro said: “I’m delighted to take over from the excellent leadership of Jane Ostler; she led the Club excellently through quite possibly the most difficult times our organisation will experience.
“My appointment is to build on this, and enable a new chapter for the Club. My goal is to lead TRIC into new and exciting sectors, strengthening our relationships with supportive partners such as Sky, Sony, Roberts, Samsung and GB News to name but a few, and attract new complimentary industry brands to help TRIC support good causes.”
