“We’ve got your back, now more than ever”: Currys locks down prices with new Inflation Busters package

Currys has launched a series of “inflation busters” to help consumers through the ongoing cost of living crisis. Its ‘Price Lock’ campaign will give shoppers the everyday essential tech they need locked in at 2021 prices.

The retail giant said this scheme goes beyond its standard price promise to provide considerable discounts across over 40 products in 17 categories. Prices will be locked down to their lowest 2021 level, then held down for 30 days.

Products featured include washing machines, tumble dryers and fridge-freezers.

Example discounts include £450 off an LG American Side-by-Side Fridge Freezer, £100 off a 10KG Hoover Washing Machine and a £71 saving on a Kenwood Microwave.

Price Lock is part of a package of three summer inflation busters from Currys, which also includes a 12-month Pay Delay and the return of Cash for Trash; the latter will be money-off vouchers exchanged for old or broken tech, to offset the cost of replacement products.

Alex BaldockSaid Currys Group CEO, Alex Baldock (left): “Technology plays an increasingly vital role in UK consumers’ lives and Currys research has found that 68 per cent of Brits depend on technology for their day-to-day living, with the average person spending eight hours a day using 11 different products.

“Therefore, when something like a cooker or freezer breaks or needs replacing, the impact on both the customer’s pocket and daily life can be significant. Or if people need a new laptop for work or school, they may not be able to wait.

“That’s why we will do all we can to make technology accessible and affordable, even now.  We exist to help everybody enjoy amazing technology, and that’s why we’re committing to keep prices down on these essential products that make life easier and more enjoyable.”
