This week’s full line-up for ERT Turning Point Live! conference

ERT’s Turning Point Live! conference took place this week. Running over four days from Tuesday to Friday (9-12 February), the conference comprised a series of unique online webinars covering a variety of topics to help electrical retailers strive to be the very best in everything they do!

To reflect the current restrictions in place across the UK, attendees were able to enjoy the free-to-attend webinars from the safety of their own home.

ERT Editor, Jack Cheeseman (pictured left), hosted the week’s webinars alongside an incredible line-up of guest speakers.

Starting with Nick Simon, Client Insight Director, Consumer Electronics at GfK on Tuesday 9 February in his session entitled ‘A snapshot of the industry’.

On Wednesday 10 February, Daniel Todaro, Managing Director, Gekko Field Marketing, was chatting with ERT’s, Jack Cheeseman about the coming year’s trends for retail and how to continue trading with social distancing measures still in place.

This session was called ‘Retail revival: How to embrace the uncertain year ahead’.

On Thursday (11 February) it was all about kitchens! Firstly, Bill Miller, MD of The Kitchen and Bathroom Buying Group (KBBG), spoke about electrical retailers selling fully-fitted kitchens. He was joined by retailers Lyn Knight, MD of Abbey Appliances, and Matthew Todd, Partner at Herbert Todd & Son, who shared their first-hand experiences.

After this, it was ‘Creating safer products in the home’. Martyn Allen, Technical Director at Electrical Safety First, talked about the importance of product registrations and the obligation of installers and retailers nowadays.

We finished on Friday (12 February) on the topic of upskilling your steam to strive for success! Rosie Clarke, Product Training Manager, Miele GB and Paul Laville, MD of T21 Group, joined Jack Cheeseman to discuss how retailers can get the most out of their staff during these challenging times in order to capitalise on every sale.
