Toshiba extends Android TV offering with its latest model

Toshiba TV has unveiled a brand new Android TV model, currently available in 58-inch with more sizes to come.

The new UA2B (pictured) is the brand’s latest 4K HDR TV, joining the recently launched UK4B, UL20 and WK3 models.

With Android TV, the UA2B offers viewers an assortment of movies, shows, games and more from Google Play, along with Netflix, YouTube, Freeview Play Recorder and Prime Video all installed and ready to use.

Customers will also be able to easily cast from their phone, tablet or laptop directly to the TV with Chromecast built-in.

The UA2B remote has an embedded microphone to control the TV and other devices via the Google Assistant button.

Powered by Toshiba TV’s TRU Picture Engine, TRU Resolution technology automatically upscales non-4K content so you can experience movies and TV shows in the highest resolution. TRU Micro-Dimming technology analyses 300 different zones to enhance the contrast of an image by optimising the darker and brighter regions to create a more realistic image.

Picture and sound quality are further enhanced with Dolby Vision and speakers designed by Onkyo. Dolby Vision HDR transforms the TV for a more vibrant visual experience and when compared to a standard picture, Dolby Vision can deliver never-before-seen colours, highlights that are up to 40 times brighter, and blacks that are 10 times darker.

Bart Kuijten, Commercial Director – Vestel UK, said: “We are extremely excited to expand Toshiba’s Android TV offering with the UA2B, offering entertainment from the Google Play Store and smart capabilities using Google Assistant.”

The UA2B comes with 85 live Freeview channels, as well as over 20,000 hours of on-demand content from all the major catch-up services.
