Naim Audio Uniti range now supports Apple AirPlay 2 for Siri voice control and multi-room capabilities
Naim Audio has introduced support for Apple AirPlay 2 to its trio of award-winning high performance wireless all-in-one Uniti audio players: the Atom, Star and Nova models. Apple AirPlay 2 enables advanced multi-room functionality and Siri voice control.
This update follows Apple AirPlay 2 support for the company’s award-winning Mu-so range of wireless music systems, including the Mu-so 2nd Generation, Mu-so (first generation), Mu-so Special Edition and Mu-so Qb. Once the update becomes available, the Naim app will prompt Uniti customers to perform an over-the-air update.
Alongside its internet radio capabilities, the Uniti Star (pictured above) and Uniti Nova (pictured below) models are also receiving an optional DAB/FM module upgrade. Existing Uniti Star and Nova owners can have their players fitted retrospectively with the module through a retailer, while new customers can choose to have the module built-in during the ordering process. This upgrade is available now, with Star and Nova owners able to access and enjoy a broad range of DAB and FM broadcasts where supported.
Drawing on 45 years of expertise and heritage in audio engineering, cutting-edge industrial design and class-leading streaming technology, the Uniti series set the benchmark for high fidelity all-in-one and multi-room listening – just add speakers. The Uniti family consists of the reference audiophile Uniti Nova, the multi-functional CD-operating Uniti Star and the compact yet powerful Uniti Atom all-in-one player with the reference Uniti Core music server completing the range.
Support for Apple’s wireless proprietary technology allows the streaming of music – including Apple Music, Spotify, Tidal, YouTube, internet radio and podcasts – from an iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, Mac computer and Apple TV to a compatible Naim device.
Through the Home app, Control Center or using Siri voice command on an Apple device, Uniti owners can easily access, play and control their music anywhere in the home. Apple AirPlay 2’s multi-room capabilities allow music to be played in different rooms around the house. Ask Siri to play your favourite music or playlist in-sync on all Naim systems in every room, or just on a Uniti Atom, Star or Nova in the living room, or why not stream different songs in different rooms? Play a movie or box set on Apple TV and you can beam the audio to your Uniti system for a more immersive sound.
Apple AirPlay 2 also features enhanced buffering to improve the audio streaming performances.
