‘A modern twist to a heritage brand’: Hoover launches new upright vacuums

Last year, Hoover was awarded Superbrand status for 2020/21, recognising its “exceptional reputation” in its field for the second year in a row.

Recognising and building on this achievement “combining the very latest technological innovations with the unique heritage the Hoover brand has in its armour,” said Antony Peart, the company’s Director of Brand and Communications, Hoover has now launched a brand new vacuum campaign with the introduction of the new UPRIGHT 300 range – said to be the brand’s lightest, steerable upright vacuum ever.

Talking to ERT at the product launch, Mr Peart said: “We now deliver a modern twist to a heritage brand, providing consumers with a wealth of convenience and innovation at their fingertips. By continuing to keep the consumer front of mind in all we do we are confident we will be able to carry out Superbrand status forward for the years to come.”

Promising no loss of suction, the two current models – HOME and PETS, with an XL version coming soon – provide powerful, sustained air performance with multi-cyclonic cleaning technology, to deliver a deep clean of carpets, hard floors, furniture and stairs.

Priced from £189.99, Hoover’s UPRIGHT collection comprises and provides 80-degree swivel steering to glide around the home easily. Featuring an ergonomic loop handle with soft touch grip for comfort, the UPRIGHT 300 picks up dust and debris with ease.

The UPRIGHT 300 models, which weigh less than 5kg in use, have been created following extensive market research with consumers in the UK. After exploring vacuuming frequency, length and time of day undertaken, as well as preferences with regards to features, colourways and storage.

The manufacturer said the UPRIGHT 300 is ideal for those who suffer with allergies, too. Each model includes a H13 HEPA filter which traps harmful particles and helps relieve allergy symptoms, making it perfect for the hay fever season or sensitive noses.

It comes with an active hose and removable handle as standard but this brand-new model also includes handy tools stored on board, to deliver convenient all-round cleaning.

Launched alongside the UPRIGHT 300 is the UPRIGHT 300 PETS, complete with a three-in-one dusting/crevice and upholstery accessory and a motorised mini turbo brush to tackle fur and stubborn hairs. The third variation of the model is the UPRIGHT 300 XL, which includes extra accessories and an additional stretch hose and long crevice tool, ideal for long reach cleaning.

Dave Matthews, Business Director at Hoover SDA, said: “As the founder of the vacuum cleaner, it is important we continue to pioneer the vacuum market and offer the best cleaning solutions for our customers. In the current climate, many people use their home for work, exercise and obviously, leisure, so it’s vital to ensure the upkeep of your home to maintain a fresh, clean space for ultimate comfort.”

The UPRIGHT 300 collection is available in home (red), pet (blue) and XL (green) formats.
