HOME ENTERTAINMENT TRENDS: Wilson Audio

If you have £700,000 burning a hole in your pocket, you’d better hurry if you like the look of the Wamm Master Chronosonic loudspeaker from Wilson Audio.

The new speaker is hand-built to order and construction will be limited to just 70 pairs, with each pair taking 10 weeks to build.

The speaker stands over two metres tall and sports nine separate drive units.

The midrange-tweeter-mid-range (MTM) section incorpor-ates five drivers in individually adjustable modules. The additional rearward-firing enclosure is fitted with a tweeter and 5in midrange unit and is intended to increase “overall soundstage resolution”.

The bass section features 10in and 12in drivers, with a reflex port that can be configured to fire forwards or backwards, to suit the customer’s listening room.

Wilson Audio claims that the adjustability of the speaker in the time domain is precise down to five millionths of a second for any installation.
