British audio brand Quad has kicked off its 83rd year with the launch of the Artera Solus multi-tasking one-box hi-fi system. The model combines a CD transport, DAC, preamplifier and power amplifier in a single compact chassis.

The Artera Solus features the ES9018 Sabre32 Reference and the 32-bit, eight-channel hybrid multi-bit Delta-Sigma DAC chipset. It also features a range of digital inputs, with it able to handle PCM data up to 32-bit/384kHz as well as DSD64/128/256.

It provides plenty of connectivity options, with five digital inputs – two coaxial, two optical and one USB Type B. Analogue outputs are supplied in both single-ended RCA and balanced XLR varieties. It has a suggested price of £1,499.95.
