WIZ Connected signs exclusive distribution deal

WIZ Connected, provider of Wi-Fi connected smart lighting and now part of Signify (formerly known as Philips Lighting), has announced an exclusive distribution partnership with JDM Products, a Dublin-based Smart Home and Consumer Technology distributor.

WIZ offers a full range of lamp/bulb solutions for the consumer’s home, including fully dimmable white and colour LEDs and LED strips.  All of these products enable any customer to integrate all of the lighting solutions with their home around voice control and the WIZ app.

JDM Products UK Country Manager, Steven May, commented: “We are delighted to partner with WIZ who bring years of experience in the smart light category and a new way to reach the mass market with smart, voice activated lighting solutions at truly mass market price points.

“At JDM we have the experience of delivering rapidly accelerating brands into the channel and helping retailers focus on Sell Through, as the team that brought Beats by Dre headphones to market we understand how we deliver high quality products to reach mass market consumers.”

Mr May added: “We have created smart in-store demonstrations where customers be demonstrated first-hand the Alexa or Google Home voice activation which ensures that the store can attach the WIZ solution to any of the 35 per cent of UK homes that already have a smart speaker installed. The challenge for so many different retailers is that without a compelling demonstration in store this amazingly simple technology is lost in the store. Our aim and objective is to bring it to life in an environment where customers have both the time and inclination to experience the benefits first hand.”

WIZ has already partnered with over 70 leading fitting manufacturers to integrate their WIZ App and Voice Activated technology into their products ensuring that there is a rapidly growing market of new customers who can add bulbs and other lighting solutions into the homes for a full integrated and voice controlled system.

“To accelerate the adoption of smart lighting, we deliver affordable products that are simple to install and use. Our retail and end user facing partners, have access to interactive Point of Sale displays that can be connected with a Google Home or Amazon Alexa and used to show the customer a live demonstration in store displaying the smart functions right out of the box,” said Mr May.

“WIZ also believes in developing innovative sustainable energy solutions in line with the Signify ‘Brighter Lives, Better World’ program fighting climate change. In the WIZ App the new power consumption monitoring feature will help to optimise energy efficiency scenarios in conjunction with schedules and sensors,” he concluded.
