Whirlpool donates appliances to Mind auction

As part of its National Quiet Day campaign, Whirlpool supported a local charity, Cambridgeshire, Peterborough and South Lincolnshire (CPSL) Mind, by donating three 6TH SENSE Live Supreme Care washing machines (FSCR 12441) to a charity auction.

The charity auction was hosted at Ely Golf Club for its members, their families and friends, and the funds raised were directly donated to CPSL Mind.

CPSL Mind aims to ensure that everyone in Cambridgeshire, Peterborough and South Lincolnshire who faces mental health challenges has equal access to the support they need to recover, and can live a fulfilling life without fear of discrimination. Its mission is to provide effective, accessible services that support those recovering from mental health challenges, promote positive mental health and tackle mental health-related stigma and discrimination within its communities.

The Whirlpool 6TH SENSE Live Supreme Care washing machine (FSCR 12441) can be controlled via the Whirlpool 6TH SENSE Live app. The app allows users to set or change the programme settings, start or stop the appliance and check the progress of the appliance programme. Furthermore, the Whirlpool Supreme Care 12kg washing machine benefits from a super quiet spin cycle of only 70 dB(A) and boasts the coveted Quiet Mark accreditation, which is awarded to manufacturers who incorporate ‘quiet’ into their designs.

Zoe Doherty, Fundraiser, CPSL Mind, commented: “The funds raised at the auction will help us to continue to support local people in their recovery from mental health challenges. Overall, the auction raised £6,000 and we thank Whirlpool for their support and look forward to working together during the next National Quiet Day in 2019.”

Tailang Bu, Category Marketing Manager, Laundry, Whirlpool, added: “At Whirlpool, we believe it is important to support the local community and we hope the funds raised from the donation of the Whirlpool appliances can support CPSL Mind to continue to help those in need.

“Whirlpool recognises that noise has a substantial effect on a person’s wellbeing and mental health, which is why National Quiet Day is vital to raise awareness of the issue. Peace and quiet can lower stress levels and enhance your senses, which can increase your awareness of the world around you. Peace at home is so important and is why Whirlpool invests in the development of noise reduction technology in its appliances.”
