TV stands and mounts specialist Vogel’s has acquired Dutch audio and smart accessories company Marmitek.
Vogel’s said that the purpose behind the deal was to position itself more explicitly as a specialist in product-based solutions to improve people’s experience of sound and vision both at home and in the professional market.
Vogel’s added that by joining forces, both Eindhoven-based companies would strengthen their brands and be able to improve their market position and create new products and solutions for audio and video.
In its statement, Vogel’s said that Marmitek would continue to exist as a separate entity. It said that the acquisition would enable it to use Marmitek’s knowledge and expertise in home entertainment, while Marmitek would benefit from the Vogel’s international distribution network.
Commenting on the acquisition, Vogel’s chief executive Gerdi Vogels said: “I am very pleased with this acquisition. It is an expansion that neatly complements our current activities. Through this combination, both brands can increase their position in the market and strengthen their distribution. In addition, we are looking forward to using Marmitek’s product development knowledge and expertise for future developments. With this acquisition, Vogel’s is spreading its wings even further. It will offer us new opportunities in our sector.”
