TP Vision signs partnership with Bowers and Wilkins

TP Vision, the exclusive licensee for Philips TV, has signed a multi-year partnership with premium British audio company Bowers and Wilkins.

The alliance, said TP Vision, will allow the two companies to combine their technologies and expertise and share their engineering resources.

TP Vision has not revealed exactly what the two companies will be working on in terms of product, but have said they will be collaborating to improve the sound quality of Philips TVs.

A statement from TP Vision stated that there would be a first glimpse of what the new partnership may bring at the IFA show in Berlin later this year.

Commenting on the collaboration, TP Vision chief marketing officer Martijn Smelt said: “For far too long, as an industry, we have allowed sound quality to be the poor relation when considering TV performance. A challenge that has been further exaggerated by the outstanding quality of our OLED sets. So, I’m delighted that we have been able to partner with the world’s best audio company, Bowers and Wilkins, to ensure that in future our Philips high-end TV sound will offer a uniquely premium experience.”
