Take back your life with EIC

Addiction is most commonly associated with gambling, drugs, alcohol and nicotine, but it is possible to be addicted to just about anything, including love, sex or a relationship, which can have a huge impact on an individual’s quality of life.

An addiction to a person involves obsessive thoughts about the relationship, feelings of hope, anticipation, waiting, confusion, and desperation. Addictive relationships are toxic, very powerful and often extremely difficult to overcome, potentially leading to mental health problems.

The Electrical Industries Charity (EIC) has launched the Employee Assistance Programme (EAP), which is funded by powerLottery, to offer support to those who are trying to overcome their addiction.

Through EAP, the charity is able to help people within the electrical sector who are facing addictions or are living with a co-occurring disorder on their path to recovery by offering support services, including complex case management, financial and practical assistance and counselling.

Overcoming an addiction is a long and difficult process that often requires a significant amount of willpower and self-discipline to achieve and maintain long-term sobriety. EIC can help and assist anyone at any time, every step of the way towards recovery.

Don’t let your colleague or friend go through the process of recovery alone. Sign up to become a partner of EIC’s Employee Assistance Programme or take part in powerLottery to help.

If you or someone you know is struggling to overcome an addiction and requires support, there’s more information here: www.electricalcharity.org Or please contact the EIC support team: support@electricalcharity.org or 0800 652 1618.
