Smeg picks up multiple Red Dot Design Awards

Italian appliance manufacturer, Smeg, has picked up three prestigious gongs at this year’s Red Dot Design Awards.

The esteemed prize – widely recognised as one of the most significant within the design industry – has been awarded to three particular models; the SFPR9604NR oven from the brand’s class-leading Dolce Stil Novo collection; it’s brand new DCF01 Drip Filter Coffee Machine; and its four-slice TSF03 toaster.

This is the fifth consecutive year Smeg has taken home an award, with winners carefully selected by a panel of industry experts from various design backgrounds.

Kicking off proceedings, Smeg’s SFPR9604NR oven is a 90cm reduced height model within its already award-winning Dolce Stil Novo family. Boasting Pyrolytic cleaning, Eclipse glass technology and an A+ energy rating, it benefits from 12 different cooking functions with over 50 automatic programmes for seamless cooking at home. Defrost and proving functions only further add to its versatility, while an interactive touch-control, easy-glide display makes the cooking process quick and effective for the user. A choice of copper or silver trims complement the oven’s highly-stylised look.

Meanwhile the DCF01 is the first retro-style drip-filter coffee machine within Smeg’s SDA range, while the TSF03 is the latest addition to Smeg’s trio of design-led toasters.
