Samsung to unveil new Quantum Dot curved monitor

NEW AT CES

Samsung will unveil its new CH711 Quantum Dot curved monitor at the CES 2017 show in Las Vegas (January 5-9).

Designed with gamers in mind, the monitor is available in 27in and 31.5in variations and will be released in early 2017.

According to Samsung, the CH711 delivers “vivid, visually stunning picture quality, regardless of the content being enjoyed”.

The model features a curvature of 1,800R and a 178-degree viewing angle, which is said to make content clearly visible anywhere in a room.

Its CFG70 and CF791 Quantum Dot curved monitors will also be on display at the event this week.

Said Seoggi Kim, senior vice-president of Samsung Electronics’ visual display business: “Today’s multimedia consumers, quite rightly, have high expectations and demand a truly cutting-edge, totally immersive experience that realises the full potential of whatever they are playing or watching. This year’s line-up of curved Quantum Dot monitors offers brilliant design, richer colour and deeper contrast than ever before. We can’t wait to share them with the world at CES 2017 in Las Vegas.”

The company also revealed that it will launch three new smart TV services at CES, which include ‘Sports’, ‘Music’ and ‘TV Plus’. These will offer personalised content to users based on their TV preferences through Samsung’s Smart Hub platform.

Won-Jin Lee, executive vice-president of the visual display business, said: “At Samsung, one of our top priorities is ensuring that we are closely in tune with what consumers want and need from their smart devices and electronics. With that in mind, we continue to innovate our Smart TV offering in order to provide the content experiences that our customers have come to know and expect from Samsung.”
