Retailers to have their say in ERT Awards 2016

ERT has joined forces with leading field marketing agency Gekko for this year’s ERT Awards, which are now open for entry.

Retailers who enter will still be judged by a panel of industry experts, but ERT and its research partner Gekko will be surveying hundreds of independent retailers to find out their favourite suppliers, sales reps and products.

Look out for an email from ERT and Gekko explaining how you can have your say in the ERT Awards 2016.

This year, retailers will be asked to choose which of their suppliers are the best, based on the following criteria:

  • Service;
  • Training;
  • After-sales;
  • Display assistance;
  • Delivery and stockholding.

Dealers will also be asked to name their favourite sales rep, judging them on qualities including reliability, problem-solving, product knowledge and how well they understand their retailers’ business needs.

In addition, manufacturers will be asked to provide the name of their hero products and retailers will then choose which of those they prefer, based on the following criteria:

  • Innovation;
  • Saleability and consumer appeal;
  • Profitability.

Once the results are in, a shortlist of all the finalists will be announced in August and the winners of this year’s ERT Awards will be revealed at a special lunchtime ceremony on Monday, October 17 at The Grand Connaught Rooms in London’s Covent Garden.

This year’s retailer categories will include Independent Electrical Retailer of the Year, Domestic Appliances Retailer of the Year, Domestic Appliances Showroom of the Year, Consumer Electronics Retailer of the Year. Consumer Electronics Showroom of the Year and Small Domestic Appliances Retailer of the Year.

This year’s ERT Awards categories are sponsored by Amdea, Astra, Blomberg, Freeview Play, Miele, Panasonic, Retra, Roberts Radio, Smeg, Sony and techUK.

Samsung will sponsor the music quiz, which will take place on the day, and Yamaha will be sponsoring the welcome drinks reception.

Said ERT editor Sean Hannam: “We’re really excited about this year’s ERT Awards and teaming up with our research partner Gekko.

“In what will be a first for the electrical retailing industry, we’ll be asking the best judges of all – the retailers – to name the suppliers, sales reps and products that most benefit their businesses. I think the results will be very interesting.

“I’d like to thank all of this year’s ERT Awards sponsors and encourage even more retailers to enter he most prestigious awards in the industry.”
