New appointments at CIH

Electrical buying group, Combined Independents (Holdings) Ltd (CIH), part of Euronics, has announced a number of changes to its top team, including new appointments in the buying team and a new deputy chairman.

Tracey Harris has been appointed to the role of head of purchasing. Tracey (pictured top left) has 11 years’ experience with the CIH buying team, notably managing white goods and successfully developing and maintaining strong relationships with a variety of suppliers. Tracey will be responsible for overseeing the strategy of the buying department, including white goods, brown goods and small domestic appliances.

Further changes to the buying team see Ryan Atkinson (pictured top right) now being responsible for brown goods and Matthew Doyle (pictured bottom left) returning to the company to take on the responsibility of white goods.

Ryan brings over 15 years’ experience to the role and has held significant positions with Samsung Electronics, BSH, Vax Ltd and, more recently, LG Electronics. Matthew previously spent five years with CIH and the buying team, gaining insight into the competitive marketplace and developing product ranges to enable CIH members to stand out from the competition. Matthew brings to the role further industry experience and sales knowledge gained from over two years with Best Buy Europe and 18 months with Hisense UK. After a short break Matthew returns to CIH as part of the newly structured buying department.

Elsewhere, Andrew Thomas (pictured bottom right) has been elected deputy chairman of CIH, taking over from Steve Scogings, who has now been elected chairman of CIH. Andrew, managing director of A.F Thomas & Sons LTD, has been a CIH director for a number of years, overseeing the CITER (Wales & West) Ltd., regional group, communicating to the board with information and insights from members as well as offering advice and support based on his own experiences.

CIH chief executive officer, Stuart Cook, commented: “We are pleased to announce a number changes to the structure at CIH that further strengthens our offering to our members and suppliers. The new buying team will be working hard to solidify strong ranges and exclusive offers, while Andrew will continue to report to the board of directors and help to develop the company strategy.”
