Neato Botvacs get chatty on Facebook

Smart home robot manufacturer Neato Robotics has launched its Neato Chatbot for Facebook and Messenger apps at CES.

Neato Chatbot allows users to control its Botvac range from anywhere via Facebook for the first time.

This gives users more choice over how to control their Botvac, which includes the Neato app, Amazon Alexa Skills and the new Neato Chatbot.

The company has also introduced the Neato Developer Network, which provides access to its cloud platform, enabling developers to build third-party applications that can interact with Neato robots.

Roberto Ostinelli, director of Cloud Services at Neato Robotics, said: “We have found that there is a desire for third-party developers to integrate with our robots to create interesting usage feedback and implement other creative ideas. We embrace these third-party integrations by providing official documentation and software development kits in a newly-created developer network, to ensure that the connected world of Neato robots continues to grow at a rapid pace.”
