Mitchell & Johnson signs distribution deal with Nimans Home

British hi-fi brand Mitchell & Johnson has signed an exclusive UK distribution partnership for its headphones with technology specialist Nimans Home and is looking to grow its business with independent retailers and high street chains.

The company, which was formed in 2012 by ‘musical evangelists’ Paul Mitchell and Dave Johnson (pictured left), specialises in products that offer ‘high value and high sound performance’.

Its current range includes amplifiers, tuners, CD players and network players, as well as hi-res capable headphones that use ‘Electrostatz’ technology.

The company’s headphone line-up features wired models that retail for £199 and go all the way up to £599. Mitchell & Johnson currently offers an entry-level 200 Hi-Fi series and a high-end 800 series. It has new products in the pipeline, including 400 and 600 Hi-Fi series headphones.

The deal with Nimans Home will allow independent retailers and high street retail chains access to the headphones and help Mitchell & Johnson to grow its business and increase its profile.

Said Mr Johnson: “Our strategy from the beginning has been to protect margins for retailers and we will continue to do so. Working with Nimans Home will help us move the brand significantly further forward. Its market knowledge, enthusiasm and energy convinced us it will make a real difference. It’s a business going places and I’m sure it will make a big impact, spanning a number of key areas across the whole marketplace.”

He added: “For us, our short-term goals are to get a bridge in the market and become firmly established. We want to forge bigger and better relationships with independent retailers and blue chip names too. Even though we are five years old, it’s a question of consolidating our business, and Nimans Home can help us open further doors and pour even more fuel on sales growth.”

Nimans Home head of retail sales, Rebecca Fuchs (pictured top right), commented: “Nimans Home works with retailers and etailers big and small across the country and we are all looking forward to helping Mitchell & Johnson develop an ever deeper market presence. Exceptional sound quality and continued market innovations, such as their stunning headphones, will ensure that together we can achieve great things.”
