Hughes to remain open during lockdown for click & collect and ‘Shop Live’ services

Hughes Electrical has announced it will be keeping its stores open during the lockdown in England to offer customers a click and collect service and provide telephone advice.

Customers can call their nearest store or make a purchase online and collect at stores. The largest outlets are open seven days a week and others five.

Hughes has also said its home delivery service will remain in place with staff adhering to strict hygiene and distancing protocols.

Additionally, the retailer has extended the hours for its highly successful Shop Live service, enabling consumers to view products and experience demonstrations from the comfort of their own home.

The company will continue support of rental customers throughout the lockdown, too, while its B2B division – Hughes Trade – will also be operating.

Said company Chairman, Robert Hughes (pictured left): “It is important we continue to stand by the communities in which we operate, and indeed all our customers, as safely and efficiently as we can.

“As we are once again being asked to stay at home it makes people more dependent on refrigeration for food storage, cookers or microwaves to prepare it and televisions to help pass time and keep up to date with latest developments.

“So, if any appliance does go wrong then people will want to know it can quickly be replaced by a phone call or visiting the internet.

“I would like to give my thanks to all the Hughes staff who are pulling together to support customers at such a very difficult time.”
