Hughes invests in demo kitchen for Norwich store

Hughes Electrical has invested over £50,000 in a “state-of-the-art” demonstration kitchen at its Norwich store on Hall Road.

The kitchen took three months to complete and features more than 100 items of equipment, including induction hobs, built-in microwaves and wine coolers from brands such as Neff, Miele and Liebherr.

“This is a first for Hughes,” said regional manager Mark Ferdani. “The ‘built-in’ market is growing rapidly, while the kitchen is becoming an increasingly important part of the modern home. However, we realised people really don’t know what their new appliances will actually be like until they have them installed.

“Therefore, we took the decision to invest in the demonstration kitchen area so customers can come and see for themselves how appliances operate before making a decision on what best suits their needs.

“We are also planning to bring in top local chefs to give a series of cooking demonstrations for our customers.”

The demo kitchen has already been put through its paces with Norfolk’s award-winning chef Andy Snowling, from the Recruiting Sergeant in Coltishall, and proprietor of Little Norfolk Kitchen, who cooked three dishes featuring skate, steak and monkfish.

He said: “It’s a really lovely area with all the very latest appliances and gadgets, which is just what chefs and cooks of all abilities want.”
