Hoover’s virtual Cook Along will fund over 7,000 meals for children’s charity

Hoover has raised £2,500 for charity through a virtual Cook Along with the brand’s cooking ambassador and restaurateur, Simon Rimmer.

During the virtual cook along, hosted on Zoom last Saturday (5 September 2020), Mr Rimmer demonstrated how to cook Huevos Rancheros, a spicy Mexican breakfast (pictured below). He provided step-by-step guidance in real time to help participants with everything from prepping the ingredients to serving the meal.

Hoover was raising money for the Magic Breakfast charity, which aims to end hunger as a barrier to education in UK schools through the provision of healthy breakfasts to vulnerable children and the money raised will fund thousands of meals.

Antony Peart, Brand and Communications Director from Hoover, said: “We are absolutely delighted that our virtual cook along with Simon was a success and that we’re able to make such a significant donation to Magic Breakfast.

“Along with Simon, we are passionate in our belief that no child should start the day hungry and we hope that this donation goes some way to making sure that doesn’t happen.”

Alex Cunningham, CEO of Magic Breakfast, said: “This donation will help us provide over 7,000 meals and wrap-around support for children which is fantastic.

“Child hunger and food insecurity are issues that affect an increasing number of families in the UK in light of the pandemic so we want to take this opportunity to thank both Hoover and Simon for their fundraising efforts. We are incredibly grateful, and their support will make a huge difference to so many children.”
