Hoover reports successful start for Wizard

Hoover has reported a successful first year for its Wizard range – the UK’s first complete family of wi-fi enabled kitchen appliances.

Following the launch event at London’s Saatchi Gallery in June 2015, the Wizard range is now available in Currys stores, a number of independent retailers and on all other major retailers’ websites, including ao.com, Argos, John Lewis and very.co.uk.

Marketing director of the Hoover freestanding division, Steve Macdonald said: “The Wizard range has had a ‘Halo Effect’ on Hoover brand’s sales, and now one-in-ten of the freestanding products sold in the UK is one of ours. To date we have sold thousands of freestanding and built-in appliances and the strong sales figures look set to continue.”

GfK recently reported that Hoover Candy is gaining market share at a greater rate than any other brand group in the freestanding sector.

Mr Macdonald added: “The Wizard range has been a huge hit since first launching 12 months ago. Its Wi-Fi remote control capabilities are proving to be very popular, with the app itself providing a host of useful benefits. In particular, we have seen impressive sales figures for our connected washing machines, especially the 13kg model.”

In addition to washing machines, the Wizard range includes an oven, hob, hood and a fridge-freezer as well as a selection of built-in and freestanding dishwashers.

The Wizard app allows users to monitor energy consumption, access favourite programmes, receive alert messages and view the status of their appliances while on the go.

Mr Macdonald concluded: “Having the ability to control the product via a phone is key for the consumer. People are constantly on the go, however never too far away from their phone. The Wizard range offers a freedom and flexibility that makes a real difference to the lifestyle of the user.”

OneTouch washing machines were recently launched by Hoover, expanding its connected laundry portfolio.
