Hoover promotes David Meyerowitz to UK CEO

David Meyerowitz, former chief operating officer of Hoover Candy Group in the UK, has been promoted to UK chief executive and will assume the responsibilities of Gianfranco Palma, who will now take up a senior position within Candy Group headquarters.

Mr Meyerowitz (pictured) will now be responsible for the freestanding, SDA, built-in and service divisions.

The move comes as the appliance manufacturer has also set up a North of Europe commercial region to support “exceptional” growth in the area.

The company said it took this step to provide “necessary focus and attention” on the location, which it claimed is an important market for the group.

“The Hoover Candy Group is an award-winning, forward-thinking business which is at a pivotal time,” said Mr Meyerowitz.

“Since the launch of our Hoover Wizard family of wi-fi products in June 2015, we’ve made it our mission to lead the way in connected appliances and there are some exciting lines coming out later this year which will incorporate a number of new technologies and innovative features. In addition, we will be investing in an above-the-line campaign to demonstrate our commitment to the market.”

Mr Meyerowitz concluded: “I feel both proud and privileged to be appointed to lead a company which is ambitious, innovative and focused on making great appliances that help people in their everyday lives and am looking forward to driving the business forward over the coming years.”
