Hoover Candy appoints expert team to strengthen cooking offering

Leading domestic appliance manufacturer, Hoover Candy, has appointed an expert team dedicated to independent kitchen studios, builders’ merchants and smaller regional kitchen furniture manufacturers.

Headed up by Dan Halfpenney (pictured centre), who joined Hoover Candy in March 2019 as head of kitchen independents and contracts, is joined by account managers Dan Connell (pictured right) and Steward McLelland (pictured left).

The team will be focussed on educating this sector of the market on Hoover and Candy’s built-in categories which feature some of the most exciting technologies available.

The team will report to Sion Howard, channel director and be supported by chef and television presenter, Simon Rimmer, Hoover’s cooking ambassador who endorses the products.

Mr Halfpenney said: “Having our own service team offers both retailer and consumer the reassurance that they are fully supported and we have narrowed down the range to focus on a core selection of appliances to provide real added value to this market.

“We are delighted to have Simon Rimmer on board with his experience and success as a chef and household name. We believe that his association with Hoover will fill consumers with confidence in the innovative developments we are making in the home appliance market.”

To strengthen the company’s strategy to work with outlets on the front line of kitchen design and installation, the team has a clear focus across built-in products and have fine-tuned a core selection of built-in appliances to provide the wow-factor for consumers looking to buy products that incorporate the latest cooking technology.

Mr Halfpenney added: “Hoover  appliances boast some revolutionary technology, with world firsts in domestic appliances, like the Hoover H-KEEPHEAT oven which allows you to cook and preserve foods in a perfect, just-cooked condition for up to one  week. This means that the food is always ready to eat whenever you are!

Other market firsts for the Hoover brand include the super energy efficient integrated heat pump tumble dryer, the company said.

“We are looking forward to developing relationships with trade partners who understand the amazing growth potential that Wi-Fi Hoover and Candy products offer and are excited about bringing consumers completely new cooking experiences as well as smart appliances in dishwashing, refrigeration and laundry,” Mr Halfpenney continued.

“Haier’s ambition to grow market share across Europe has provided both Hoover and Candy brands a unique opportunity which the kitchen specialists can take full advantage of.

“We are developing our ranges to support this particular market by not over complicating the offer, launching technologies which consumers can see and feel the benefits of and making sure that all of this is great value.”
