Hoover has joined forces with trade distributor Connect Distribution to offer an exclusive range of vacuum cleaners to independent retailers.
The gunmetal grey collection, comprising eight models, including the brand-new H-Free cordless stick vacuum cleaner, is available only to Connect Distribution’s customers.
The partnership, formed this month, will support Connect Distribution’s base of independent stores across the UK, providing them with both exclusive products and support to boost sales.
The exclusive range includes cordless stick, upright and cylinder vacuums, specifically the H-Free, H-Free Pets, H-Free C300, Discovery Pets, Breeze Evo Pets, Enigma Evo and two Whirlwind Pets models.
As part of the partnership, Connect Distribution is also establishing a dealer scheme, where customers can access a suite of commercial support to assist with sales and marketing.
Said Andrew Sharp, managing director of Connect: “Partnering with Hoover is a tremendous opportunity for us and we’re very excited.
“Hoover is synonymous with vacuum cleaners, so we’re delighted to work with such a high-profile brand to offer exclusive models to our customers and give them a USP against not only their local competitors, but also the large national retailers.
“Partnership activity can be a real game-changer for a company like ours and we’re looking forward to getting the word out about Hoover’s latest innovations in floorcare and utilising the full marketing mix to support our customer’s businesses.”
Hoover Candy Group UK chief executive David Meyerowitz added: “Connect’s ambitions are fully aligned with ours, we are encouraged by these synergies and their appetite to work collaboratively towards our shared goals.
“The floorcare market is highly competitive, both between appliance brands and the main retail channels. This strategic partnership will provide Connect, and its customer base, with a unique proposition to deliver sustainable added value. We hope this is the start of a long and successful relationship.”
Connect will soft-launch the partnership at forthcoming trade shows, including The Housewares Show this month and is expected to make its first deliveries to retailers across the UK in October.
