Hisense signs sponsorship deal for 2018 World Cup
Chinese consumer electronics giant Hisense has signed a deal with Fifa to become an official sponsor of the 2018 football World Cup.
The partnership will see Hisense become the Official Television of the 2018 Fifa World Cup and the 2017 Fifa Confederations Cup (in June/July).
The deal will enable Hisense to showcase its TV products to the billions of fans viewers that tune into the World Cup worldwide.
Commenting on the sponsorship, Hisense UK deputy managing director Howard Grindrod (pictured) said: “The Fifa World Cup is the most watched sporting event on the planet and we’re delighted to have this opportunity to be a part of both the 2017 Fifa Confederations Cup and 2018 Fifa World Cup as an Official Sponsor.
“Our brand has continued to grow and the Fifa World Cup is the perfect platform to improve awareness in the UK and deliver the action to fans at home and travelling to Russia. For every major tournament, the nation is gripped with football fever and this gives us an opportunity to continue highlighting our high-specification products to a passionate and engaged audience.”
The World Cup deal is the latest in a series of high-profile sponsorships, including the Uefa Euros 2016, Red Bull Formula 1 racing and the Australian Open.
