Hama UK to distribute Orbitsound

Hama UK has taken on distribution of British soundbar brand Orbitsound, including its Bar A70 and ONE P70 models.

The move follows Hama’s recent success with Scandinavian loudspeaker brand Audio Pro, which it signed a distribution deal with last year.

Orbitsound was formed in 2005 and its products incorporate the company’s patented airSOUND technology, which is said to free the listener from having to sit in the usual ‘sweet spot’ between the speakers in order to hear stereo. With Orbitsound’s products, it is claimed that you can be anywhere in the room to enjoy the full effect.

Commenting on the distribution agreement, Ben Jones, Hama UK’s senior product manager, said: “Leading the way in British audio innovation, Orbitsound’s airSOUND technology has completely redefined the listening experience over the past decade, eliminating the traditional un-balanced sound from separate left and right stereo speakers and creating a complete panoramic sound experience. No more ‘sweet spots’, just exceptional, high-definition audio available at any location within the room. The technology is second to none and Hama are privileged to be a part of its legacy.”

Hama is hoping to increase the profile of Orbitsound in independent retailers across the UK through improved delivery and its regional on-the-road sales team. It will also look to target alternative areas of business, such as boutiques, schools, hotels and small businesses.

Said Richard Williams, managing director of operations at Orbitsound: “We are joining Hama UK at an incredibly exciting time. Orbitsound is at the forefront of innovation, bringing airSOUND technology to the consumer technology market.

“Hama provides an unrivalled level of expertise and their nationwide staff have the knowledge that comes from being genuine enthusiasts. We feel we have a distributor that understands our target and discerning audience, and will help us reach markets and customers we haven’t been able to in the past.

“We are confident that this new partnership will help our journey towards becoming a significant audio technology brand.”
