Haier named No.1 global major appliance brand for 13 consecutive years

Haier has been named as the number one global major appliance brand in volume sales by Euromonitor. And this is the 13th consecutive year that Haier has topped the list in the category.

According to the data, released at the end of last year, Haier is the number one brand of refrigeration appliances in the world in terms of volume sales – and it has been for 14 consecutive years.

It is also the number one brand of home laundry appliances in the world in volume sales; number one for freezers in the world; and number one for freestanding electric wine coolers and chillers in the world in volume sales – and has been for 12 consecutive years.

Jim McEwan, Chief Commercial Officer of Haier UK, commented: “We are honoured to be the number one global major appliance brand for the 13th consecutive year in a row. It is a huge achievement. At Haier we are constantly striving to listen to consumers, changing needs and adapting to them, while simultaneously researching and harnessing cutting-edge technology, to stand out in the market.”

Last summer, ERT had an exclusive interview with David Meyerowitz, CEO of Haier UK and Ireland, where he spoke about retaining this crown against the backdrop of such turbulent times…

“This is down to four key elements; our commitment to R&D, excellence in IoT, dedication to the RenDanHeYi model, which principally is ‘human value comes first’, and finally the continuous investment to support growth.

“Research and development is fuelled by many elements, but particularly insights from smart appliance usage across our Haier, Hoover and Candy brands. What, how and when products are used is invaluable information that feeds into product development.”

Mr Meyerowitz also commented on Haier’s investment for continuous growth, such as three new factories for Europe; the first, a new tumble dryer factory in Turkey, the second, a new cooling factory in Romania, and the third he was remaining tight-lipped about. And we are still waiting to hear!
