Gloucester-based Smart Home Sounds reports huge growth

There’s cause for celebration at the offices of Smart Home Sounds, as the Gloucester-based home audio company, founded by ex-English rugby player Andy Hazell, has recorded 100 per cent growth over the last two years, generating an annual turnover of £3 million.

The company, with offices at Churcham Business Park in Gloucester and a state-of-the-art ‘listening pod’ in Cheltenham, is a retailer for smart speakers and stocks ranges by Sonos, Bluesound, Kef, Bowers and Wilkins and, most recently, Marshall.

Andy Hazell, MD, commented: “We’re delighted with these latest figures that pay testament to the hard work of the team here. We’ve seen the popularity of smart speakers surge, especially in the past 12 months and, as a result, we’re growing month on month.

“We’ve had a really busy few months with the launch of three new products from Sonos. We’ve also launched our new website and added Bowers & Wilkins to our product range. In addition, we’ve recently secured the iconic brand Marshall which we can start selling soon, which is a great addition for us.”

Smart Home Sounds differentiates itself from other retailers by offering customer support in the form of online tutorials and ‘vlogs’ via its YouTube channel and on its website. These unique videos and posts are created by the company to help customers find the right product to suit them, alongside installation help and general tips and hints.

Mr Hazell continued: “Website traffic has also doubled with customers viewing our ever-popular vlogs and video tutorials. In a busy market it’s important that we continue to innovate and offer our customers something our competitors don’t. I truly believe that our shopping experience and level of product support is hard to beat anywhere in the UK.”

In addition to online support, the company offers an extended six-year warranty, free next-day delivery and a ‘price beat policy’, backed up with unrivalled customer service and expert product knowledge. In addition, customers become part of a loyalty scheme, accessing loyalty discounts and offers and preferential prices on future purchases.
