The Euronics brand has achieved huge national exposure in support of its members with brand coverage during the historic Test Match between England and the West Indies at the Ageas Bowl in Southampton, which took place on 8-12 July.
In the first cricket match of the series, also England’s first home Test of 2020, this closely-fought international contest attracted a larger than ever TV audience, combining live ball-ball coverage on Sky, with free-to-air highlights shown every night of the five-day game on BBC Two.
Combined Independents (Holdings) Ltd (CIH), part of Euronics, supported the match with the brand appearing regularly throughout the game on the LED display system used just behind the boundary around the pitch.
“We were delighted to put the Euronics brand right in the eyeline of so many viewers during the five days of this momentous game,” said Stuart Cook, CEO of CIH. “Because of the pandemic lockdown, this Test match became one of the most eagerly anticipated games in history and a must-watch for cricket-starved fans across the nation.
“The timing of our brand exposure offered an important boost for Euronics retailers. They are now open, COVID-secure and reporting good levels of business and footfall from customers who are retuning in numbers to support their local electrical appliance retailer.”
The match itself was heralded as a success for the TV audience with West Indies emerging victorious by a narrow four-wicket margin in a nail-biting finish to the five-day game. They take a 1-0 lead in the Three Test Series which continues with the Second Test at Old Trafford.
