ERT to hold summit on future of electrical retailing

ERT has announced that it will be holding a free one-day conference to debate the future of the electrical retailing sector.

The Turning Point Summit will take place on February 2, 2017, at the techUK offices in London (10 St Bride Street, London, EC4A 4AD).

There will be guest speakers, panel discussions and insight and advice from industry experts.

Said ERT editor Sean Hannam: “Independent retailers, who are dwindling in numbers, need to adapt their businesses to survive. They also need to work more closely with their suppliers to forge meaningful and beneficial working relationships.

“For some retailers, selling the smart home will be a huge challenge, but we have to accept that the Internet of Things is going to impact on all our lives.

“As products get more complicated to install and use, we arguably need specialist independents more than ever, but the brutal truth is that independents are a dying breed and, if we’re not careful, they could soon become extinct. We are at a turning point and as the top magazine in the electrical retailing sector, we are leading the debate.

“With this in mind – and with the support of techUK – we have decided to hold the ERT Turning Point Summit. It will be a free, one-day conference to debate the industry’s biggest question: what is the future for electrical retailing?”
