Borshch Electric, based in the West Midlands, picked up the coveted Turning Point Award (awarded to the retailer that demonstrates initiative and proven positive adaptation to their business model). In the category for Best Independent Domestic Appliances Retailer, Marks Electrical was the winner.

The trophy for the Sales Excellence Award this year went to Wendy Jordan from Abbey Appliances, in Evesham, Worcestershire.

On the supplier side, Jonathan Stretch at Beko/Blomberg received this year’s Sales Representative Award, while Best Supplier Customer Service went to Pik-a-Pak & Statesman and the Training Provider Award was picked up by the Samsung TV/AV Training Team.

The product category winners were:

Best New Product – Consumer Electronics: LG Electronics – the LG C9 OLED TV;

Best New Product – Major Domestic Appliances: Liebherr – the Monolith EKB 9471 refrigerator and EGN 9171 freezer;

Editor of ERT magazine, Jack Cheeseman, said: “Huge congratulations to all of this year’s winners! And thank you to everyone that took the time to enter the ERT Awards during challenging conditions this year.

“This has been a year like no other. Never before have retailers been forced to close their shop doors, and at the start of the year there were a lot of questions and concerns. There have been a lot of ups and downs and a lot of changes with rules and restrictions – nobody knows what’s around the corner.

“However, throughout the course of this year we’ve heard great success stories from retailers up and down the country really going the extra mile. They’ve been going above and beyond to reach and serve their loyal customers during these trying times.

“It’s this – and lots more – that we celebrate at the ERT Awards, bringing together retailers and suppliers to celebrate and recognise excellence across the electrical retail industry!

“I am so glad we were still able to hold a virtual event this year. Thanks to everyone that tuned in to watch!”

This year’s ERT Awards sponsors are Calculus Software Solutions, Electrical Safety First, Haier Europe, Humax, Jura, Retra and Sirius Buying Group. The supporters of the event are AMDEA and Gekko.
