Organisers of EI Live! 2021 have said it was the event’s “most successful outing to date”, and that plans are already in place for next year – to create an expanded and enhanced national AV and home automation show for the industry.
After receiving “overwhelmingly positive feedback” this year, Show Director, David Kitchener, said the aim is to provide a national show packed with high-quality demonstration experiences, expanded learning opportunities in the Technical Theatre, and industry networking, including the continued hosting of the Smart Building Awards.
“This package aims to deliver everything that the UK installation, AV and Hi-Fi community will ever need from a trade event,” he said.
“We moved the show to the Farnborough International Exhibition and Conference Centre in 2019 to industry applause. In 2021 the show has risen to the next level and is now unquestionably considered the UK’s national AV and home automation exhibition.”
Show firsts and launches at the event this year included: Habitech/Sonance Motion Flex hidden speakers; AWE/Epson’s global launch of EH-LS12000B and EH-LS11000W laser projectors; WeQuote’s launch of re-invented quoting platform for the AV and installation market; Blustream with new 18Gbps/Dolby Vision capable HDBaseT and SDVoE video over IP solutions; Connected Distribution with the UK launch of the Russound VoicePlay, streaming, voice-controlled multiroom audio system; Rako with a new range of modular control keypads; and Hisense made its show debut revealing big ambitions for the home cinema/quality AV sector.
Also, Aquavision launched the 100in Horizon exterior TV; Aldous Systems showcased the return to the UK of the Cerasonar range of hidden speakers by Ceratec Audio Design; and the show welcomed a debut from Snap One with several UK firsts, as well as formal training for Control4 dealers on both days of the show.
Feedback from exhibitors this year included: Sophie Graham, Habitech Marketing and Communications Manager, commented: “EI Live! is always a fantastic showcase of the best our industry has to offer. After a long break from trade shows, UK CI’s only national event was a wonderful chance to reunite with old industry friends and to meet the new companies in the custom install channel.”
Manuel Altheim, Marketing Manager, GUDE Systems, said: “The show was a real success for GUDE. It was our first participation and will certainly not be the last.”
Ian Severs, Founder of Karma-AV, also offered: “The show’s comeback surpassed all expectations! We enjoyed a steady flow of interest on both days from high-quality integrators who seemed to appreciate the quality and range of the products on our stand, and we’ve already booked for next year!”
Lee Roche, Creator of the WeQuote platform, first time exhibitors, said: “The reception for the platform was brilliant, it was most people’s first-time hearing about WeQuote. The stand was so busy for both days that we didn’t even have time to eat!”
Mr Kitchener added: “EI Live! is making big plans, but the show will always be a genuine partnership with the industry – join us on that exciting and successful journey!”
