Cedia opens new education facility

Cedia has opened a new education facility at its UK headquarters in St Neots, Cambridgeshire.

The new resource includes an education room, a practical workshop and a new breakout area and opened on May 8.

Cedia said the new space marked its ongoing commitment to invest in high-quality industry training.

Last year, Cedia hosted 72 courses with more than 600 ‘technology integrators’ in its training room. The international trade association decided to expand its facility to be able to accommodate the growing interest that its training courses have generated.

Between June and December, it will host just under 100 days of training, with courses ranging from project and business processes to audio, video and RF systems for installers and design process and documentation to 3D audio and immersive sound for home cinema.

The new training facility is also available for Cedia members to hire.

“Education is an essential step for those looking to enter and progress their skills in the home technology industry” commented Cedia EMEA managing director Matt Nimmons. “Our education programme continues to grow in popularity, so we felt that it was time to invest in a dedicated training facility. Since the facility opened at the beginning of May, it has been fully booked, with attendees enjoying the new space for various training sessions, including the four-day technical school. We are delighted that the space has received a great reception from all who attended these sessions.”
