Aerix to bring its Duet to the UK

Taiwanese premium audio brand Aerix is to launch its first product in the UK early next year.

The Duet all-in-one system, which includes a CD player and wireless music streaming via wi-fi and Bluetooth, will be on sale in January 2017 for £1,500.

Based on a design of two minimalist cubes, which sit on top of a chrome plate, the Duet took five years to develop and is said to create “immersive 360 degree audio” thanks to its upward-firing horn-loaded treble and bass drivers. It also has a built-in subwoofer.

The Duet, which was designed by an international team from Europe and Taiwan, also incorporates the latest DTS Play-Fi module and advanced Bluetooth. This means the user can play music from various streaming sources, including Spotify, Deezer, Pandora, Tidal and Songza. It can be paired with up to eight other units for multi-room listening.

The Duet is also equipped with DSP chips that are “optimised with exclusive VIS (Virtual Intelli Sound) technology” and offer three built-in listening modes – Relax, Natural and Hyper – to suit different moods.

Said Aerix’s managing director and co-founder Jimmy Chang: “The Duet is slightly expensive, but we think it’s worth every penny – you will want to have this unit for a long time. It’s a true hi-fi in two compact boxes.”

Aerix is looking to sell the Duet through selected retailers, including audio dealers, department stores and boutique design shops. It is also hoping to have it on display in bars and restaurants.

Said Mr Chang: “We don’t want this to be everywhere in the UK – we want it to be presented in the right way. This is not a cheap product that should go everywhere.”

The company is planning to launch more products next year.
