‘A great buzz’ at Exclusively 2022!

“Exclusively 2022 was a fabulous event with lots of energy and excitement throughout.”

That is according to Will Jones, the Chair of Exclusively Chair and Chief Operating Officer of BHETA, which organises the show.

“Coming on the back of a tough two years, this is particularly welcome,” he went on, “and provides great evidence for how much the electricals, tabletop and housewares sectors enjoy face-to-face contact and networking.”

This year’s Exclusively Show, which was held last week at The Business Design Centre in London, saw footfall up nearly 30 per cent on last year and ahead of many pre-pandemic shows, with enthusiastic feedback from exhibitors, retail buyers and media visitors.

Mr Jones continued: “The show was a sell-out with great support from the whole industry, and I was particularly delighted with the retailer buy-in to the initiatives we offered up-front.

“We delivered our busiest-ever international Meet the Buyer event on Monday evening with retailers coming from all over the globe, including USA and South Africa. This is especially pleasing in the context of Covid and Brexit – clearly, international retailers are still keen on doing business with UK suppliers.”

The show’s trend areas had more retailers booked on Trend Tours and Trend Talks than ever before and enjoyed very high levels of engagement, said Mr Jones. The brand Showcase played host to literally hundreds of media visitors and influencers and included a very well-attended product launch by Swan, working with top ‘cleanfluencer’ Lynsey Crombie, the ‘Queen of Clean’.

The Launchpad area for break-through suppliers also had its best year with excellent feedback from exhibitors, while new show features – such as the wine tastings with Olly Smith and Jeremy Pang’s video creation – proved popular.

Mr Jones reported that he has seen “record re-bookings” for the 2023 show… “In fact over a third of the hall is already re-booked,” he said.

Amongst the exhibitor comments about this year’s show, Simon Oliver from RKW Ltd, said it had “a fantastic show”.

“Our stand has been exceptionally busy. A great bunch of buyers have come on board. Good quality. A great bunch of people. Couldn’t ask for any better.”

While Neil McIntosh, Country Manager UK and Ireland at The Cookware Company, added: “Fantastic buzz at the Exclusively Show! The trend area was fabulous and Scarlet Opus are the absolute best in class trend forecasters”

Visitors to the show included Lisa Rutherford, Partner and Category Lead Cookshop, John Lewis & Partners, who commented: “Such a beneficial day getting to immerse ourselves into our product category with cookware experts new and old. We came away with some great new ideas and lots of insight.”

And Victoria Owen, Senior Buyer Cookshop at Sainsbury’s, said: “We thoroughly enjoyed seeing existing and new suppliers, with all stands full this year there was such a buzz.”
