Best Buy’s first store at Thurrock opened today April 30th at 7am.

As expected, the firm opened with some sensational offers.

A Toshiba 32in LCD Model AV615 was on offer at £179.99 – an amazing price for a branded 32in.

Other eye-catching offers included the following:

Samsung 32in UE32B6000 TV £399 (£559 at Dixons)

LG 50in 50PS6000 Plasma TV £499 (£799 at PRC Direct)

Toshiba SD590 DVD player £14.99 (£57.58 at Pixmania)

Nintendo Wii Black £99.99 - marked “Non Sale price £179”

Tom Tom £69.99 (£99.99 at Currys)

Krups Nescafé Coffee Machine £64.99 (£129 at Tesco)

Acer Aspire AS5332 laptop £299 (£379 at Currys)

Hotpoint WML720P washer £199 (£238 at Bennetts)

Belling FSG60TC cooker £299 (£449 at Bennetts)

Samsung RSH1NHMH US fridge £479 (£468.99 at ElectroCentre)

So well done to Electro Centre at St Albans!

It will be interesting to compare prices again next month.

Best Buy also has an interesting promotion that promises all their money back to customers spending over £500 if England win the Football World Cup.

Best Buy is going to be a formidable competitor. I am sure they will create a lot of interest in electricals and I wish them well.
