These categories are not open to general entry. However, they are just as important and recognise vital competencies in retailing.
Every month our mystery shopping team visit different towns to check up on the sales skills of independents and multiples and report their findings in our very popular Take a Town feature in ERT magazine.
From the dozens of businesses visited throughout the year, our mystery shoppers choose a shortlist and, ultimately, the eventual winners for these categories. These are highly valuable awards as they represent the skill and professionalism of the people they meet.
Any store scoring seven out of 10 or more in ERT’s Take a Town feature since September 2009 will automatically be entered into these categories.
