HOW TO ENTER...

Entering the ERT Awards has never been easier, all you need to do is follow these steps and you can’t go wrong...

STEP ONE

Pick your categories
Remember that if you’re a retailer, you only need to fill in one form to make yourself eligible for all the relevant categories. Manufacturers have separate forms so make sure you’re downloading the right one.

STEP TWO

Get your pictures together
Every entry will need supporting pictures that show your showroom, marketing campaign or product to the best effect. Pictures should be JPEGs with as high a resolution as possible.
It is HIGHLY ADVISABLE to include showroom floorplans if at all possible.. Please DO NOT send photos embedded in PDFs or Word documents.
Make sure you have pictures that show the complete showroom as much as possible.

STEP THREE

Fill in the form
Click on the ‘Get Entry Form’ button and you’ll be asked to enter some simple contact information. You’ll then be sent an email with a link through to the relevant form. The form is a simple Word document that you can save and fill in at your leisure. When you’re finished you just email it back to us with the accompanying pictures. Again, DO NOT embed the pictures in the document or PDF.
Remember that judges have loads of entries to get through so be succinct and use bullet points to highlight key facts. It may sound obvious, but fill in ALL the answers.

STEP FOUR

Ask for help
Email awards@ertgroup.co.uk or call 020 8515 2113 if you have any questions and we’ll help as much as we can.

STEP FIVE

Remember the closing date
Get your entry to us by the closing date – no later than midday on July 3, 2015.
There will be NO EXTENSIONS to the deadline.

FAQ

The ERT Awards, now in their tenth year, reward retailers and suppliers for excellence in the electrical retail industry.

They are organised by ERT magazine, the leading business title for the sector. The magazine has been published for an incredible 127 years

The ERT Awards are open to all retailers and suppliers of electrical goods and services based in the UK and Republic of Ireland.

The ERT Awards are completely FREE to enter. Equally, if you are shortlisted as a finalist you will be invited to attend the awards ceremony for FREE also. There are no hidden costs or fees.

The awards are split into two sections – Retailers and Suppliers.

The Retailer categories are open for submitted entries, apart from the Independent Salesperson of the Year Award.
The Supplier awards will be chosen by researching hundreds of retailers. Suppliers do not need to submit entries for the ‘Supplier of the Year’ categories, however they can submit entries for the ‘Training Award’.

Submitted entries are not required for the ERT Product Innovation Award or the Special Achievement Award.

There is one supplier category that is open for submitted entries – the Training Award

The Training Award is chosen from submitted entries, so download the specific entry form and answer it in full.

The form is looking for evidence on:
What makes your nominated training department or company stand out. How successful has the training been and why? What kind of training support was offered?
Examples of successful training schemes and results and a good quality photo of your training principal or team, plus a testimonial from one or more clients.

test

The entry process is now open and closes at midday on June 9, 2017. Unfortunately, entries cannot be returned after judging.

For the retailer categories, we have put together a fantastic panel of industry experts who will narrow down all the entries to shortlists of finalists and the eventual winners.

The judging panel will also decide on the finalists and winner of the Training Award in the supplier categories.

For the supplier categories, we have joined forces with leading field marketing agency Gekko. Simply put, we are going to ask the best judges of all – the retailers.

We will be surveying hundreds of ERT readers to get the definitive measurable answer on who the best suppliers are, which new products have caught their imagination, and which sales reps are really going the extra mile.

Using this methodology – which will take into account the relative number of retailers stocking a supplier – we will produce a shortlist and eventual winner for:

  • Consumer Electronics Supplier of the Year
  • Domestic Appliance Supplier of the Year
  • Sales Rep of the Year - Independents

All the finalists will be invited to the lunchtime event, which will take place on Monday, September 25 at the Grand Connaught Rooms in London’s Covent Garden.

The Independent Salesperson of the Year

Every month, our mystery shopping team visits towns and cities across the UK to check up on the sales skills of independents and multiples and report its findings in our renowned Take a Town feature. From the dozens of businesses visited throughout the year, our mystery shoppers choose a shortlist and, ultimately, the eventual winners for these categories.

These are highly prestigious awards, as they represent the very best of salespeople in the electrical retailing industry.

Every independent salesperson who has scored three or more out of five in ERT's Take a Town feature since June 2016 will automatically qualify for entry into these categories. We will then draw up a shortlist.

For the Independent Salesperson of the Year category, a member of our events team will contact the finalists to let them know they have been shortlisted and will invite them to the ceremony in central London where the winner will be announced.
