In the last two editions of Knightline, I took a hard look at the current state of our industry. My comments have sparked a very large reaction from dealers and a number of letters.

IN THE LAST Knightline, I took a very realistic view of the current state of our industry and I was surprised to hear almost immediately from a large number of dealers, who agreed with the views I expressed. Almost all said the past few years of trading had been difficult and they were pleased to see this recognised in ERT and most hoped that ERT’s Save The High Street campaign would help.

In the last Knightline, I promised to take a hard look at the current state of our trade. I did warn that this would make for a very tough read, but dealers find it difficult to face up to the realities.
