Samsung today opened a home appliances showcase in its existing Gourmet Cookshop on the second floor of top people’s department store Harrods.

The Samsung-branded showcase, manned by Samsung-trained staff, will be open for nine weeks.

Visitors to the new store will have the chance to try out and buy products from across Samsung’s range of premium cooking, laundry, floorcare and refrigeration appliances, including the Dual Cook oven, Ecobubble washing machine, G-Series refrigerator and NaviBot S robotic vacuum cleaner.

Included, too, is a new 701 litre capacity limited-edition A++ energy-rated refrigerator, available only as a Harrods exclusive.

It provides, said Samsung, “all round luxury” with gemstones, ink-stained glass and champagne handles, complemented by a crystal clear interior and, of course, a hefty £2,999 price ticket.

“We are delighted to be working with Harrods to open our first home appliances showcase in one of Britain’s most iconic stores,” said Robert King, vice-president of consumer electronics at Samsung UK and Ireland.

“This will be a stunning display of our cutting-edge, high-end products and an opportunity for our customers to experience the brand in a completely new environment.”

Director of Harrods Home, David Miller, added: “We’re thrilled to be able to offer visitors to our Knightsbridge store a chance to buy Samsung’s premium products over the summer, and are proud to be the exclusive retailer for its new limited-edition refrigerator.”
