Hitachi to stop making TVs | Back |

Hitachi is to stop making TVs by the end of September because of intense price competition.
The company has already outsourced overseas TV manufacturing to other firms in 2009 but continued to make sets for the Japanese market.
The company will, of course, continue to sell TVs. Before stopping TV production at its last remaining flat-screen factory in Gifu, Japan, it will transfer its TV business from its consumer electronics to its consumer marketing division.
