ROBERTS has added two new high-gloss finishes to its Sound 53 DAB/FM/CD digital sound system with iPod dock.

Ferrari red and ice white now join piano black as a colour choice for this unit, which sells for around £286.

The acoustically tuned wooden cabinet of the Sound 53 is said to create exceptional sound.

Users can listen to CDs and DAB and FM radio, or use USB devices and SD functions to record songs from radio or CD.

Other details include 20 station presets, a six-position equaliser with separate bass and treble, headphone socket and an aux input for iPod/MP3 playback.

Alarm functions include a choice of buzzer, radio, iPod, CD, SD card or USB stick.

This unit has one rotary control on its front panel for volume while all other functions are accessed via a compact remote control.

It is said to offer low-power standby and carries an optical Toslink output socket.
