| A tasty Ghisa for your kitchen | |
| 02 July 2010 HOOVER Candy claims its Ghisa flat cast-iron gas hob is set to change conventional thinking about gas hobs. For starters, the company pointed out, it looks unlike anything else on the market today. It is cast in a single die, around half as thick as a traditional model, a move made possible by the development of new burners. Patented technology has led to the development of new burners which mix forced air and natural gas for maximum efficiency and power. This is despite the fact that the distance between the bottom of a saucepan and the burner is only 28mm, compared with the 45mm of traditional hobs. It is available in two sizes – 750mm wide x 520mm deep with four burners, or at 900mm wide x 400mm deep with three burners. Pan supports are integrated into the product and each burner carries a flame-failure safety valve. Control knobs are individually illuminated and positioned centrally. “The new ghisa flat cast-iron gas hob combines the controllability of the traditional gas hob, with stylish design and increased efficiency, giving it wide appeal and a genuine edge over the increasingly popular induction hobs,” said Hoover Candy’s marketing director Steve Macdonald. Prices start at around £800. Hoover Candy. 0151 334 2781. | |
