Freeview HD tuners in new Sony range
26 February 2010

Sony claims to be the first company to launch a TV range carrying integrated Freeview HD tuners - they went on sale in UK stores this week.

The Sony Bravia Monolithic line-up is said to offer a wide choice of models and screen sizes from 32in to 60in.

Sony said that 75 per cent of its 2010 Bravia range will have Freeview HD tuners built-in.

The company is also offering IPTV (internet protocol TV) sets, the Bravia NX series, that will allow viewers to connect to the internet wire-free.

To enhance the online package, Sony has a partnership with Lovefilm that will let viewers watch streamed movies.
