Business and financial news channel CNBC is to launch on Freesat on February 23.

The channel is already carried on Sky, Virgin Media and TalkTalk TV.

CNBC president and chief executive for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Mick Buckley, said the plan was to “aggressively” grow the channel’s distribution throughout the region.

He told entertainment website Digital Spy: “This year we will further grow our distribution across the region, making our content available to a wider audience, firmly cementing our place as the premier source of news, information and analysis for anyone interested in business and finance."
