THE metallic Ixos Divo sound system claims to be more versatile than your run-of-the-mill one-box iPod docking system but simpler than a complex hi-fi system.

Its multipurpose design is intended to improve the sound from almost any modern flat TV and work seamlessly with iPods, MP3 players and computers.

The Divo 2.1 music system, which retails around £229.99, is designed for those who want both quality sound and to combine several audio sources (TV, iPod, CD player, games consoles, laptop computer) through one sound system.

The 3.5mm auxiliary input allows connectivity with nearly all portable music devices, laptop and desktop computers and its mini-tower speakers can be placed away from the separate subwoofer for a wide stereo spread.

The machine is supplied with two lengths of Ixos speaker cable (4.5m and 0.5m) to allow for a variety of set-up options, plus a remote handset.

System frequency response for the Divo is quoted as 20Hz to 20kHz and total system power is rated at 48W (RMS).
